We welcome any community organisation or local institution (or indeed any other local social media platform) to share their events and opportunities for people in the local community. The idea for the site originates from the abundance of social media feeds and websites sharing information about Handsworth and the surrounding areas. We have been managing the HandsworthOnline facebook page for a few years and recognise the need for collaboration and the ability to reach beyond just those who can and wish to access social media. We recognise that all of the Handsworth focussed pages operate with the same intentions, to bring people together and improve the outcomes for all who live in the local community. Therefore we support Inside Handsworth as a local community news source, and indeed ourselves as as local news sharers and community engagers, trying to achieve the same goals. We look forward to bringing their work and that of local organisations, community groups and institutions to an audience that doesn't necessarily have to be engaged with social media.
